Why Are Teenagers So Injury-Prone?
There is a lot going on in the adolescent world, with rapid changes in growth, hormones,increased activity and other social stresses.Growth spurts, high training loads anddemands (often across multiple sports) can increase the risk of overuse injuries, as wellas acute injuries. Many teens also don’t get enough rest and recovery time, which putsfurther stress on their developing bodies. On top of that, learning new movementpatterns, increased training, game frequency and intensity (and often the introductionof gym training), can contribute to strain and injury, especially in high-impact orrepetitive sports
